Sammy Smith won The Progress Group 250 at Talladega Superspeedway by 0.084 seconds, a day after he won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race there. A push from JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier sent him inside Carson Kvapil on the last lap, the only lap Smith led. Jesse Love started on the pole, scored no stage points and finished third. He leaves Talladega with a 19-point lead over Allgaier in the Chase, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series playoff, with two races left. Corey Day is 29 back, Sheldon Creed 50 and Kvapil 59.

Davey Segal hosts with Dylan "Mamba" Smith, Chris Wilner and guest Adam Alexander. They talk through Love's day, the JR Motorsports flotilla and Smith's road from late models to the win, with Smith's own early race video. Then Martinsville: pit stall selection, two-race strategies, how far back is too far, Corey Day's season and the track's history with Ty Gibbs, Sam Mayer, Brandon Jones and Austin Hill. They score last week's picks and pick the race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 31: Adam takes Sheldon Creed, Davey takes Justin Allgaier, Chris takes Carson Kvapil and Mamba takes Austin Hill.
