Grand National Today is a motorsports publication covering NASCAR's three national series: the Cup Series, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, and the Craftsman Truck Series. It is the home of The Grand National Show, our weekly show about the stories behind the race.
The Grand National Show
New episodes Thursdays. The show goes past the results and into the people, the decisions and the history that shape a race weekend: the drivers, the crew chiefs, the spotters, the strategy calls that decide a championship, and the tracks that have been shaping this sport since the 1950s.

The Name
The NASCAR Grand National Series, which ran from 1949 to 1971, was the sport's founding era. It was the Petty era and the Allison era, when stock car racing was regional, rough and real. Grand National Today takes the name because it takes that view of the sport: the racing matters, the people matter, and the history is not decoration.
What We Cover
The three NASCAR national series. Race coverage, championship standings, schedules, and the reporting that explains what actually happened and why it mattered.
The Chase. The nine-race O'Reilly Auto Parts Series championship, race by race, from Darlington in September to the finale at Homestead-Miami in November.
The tracks. Reference guides to the venues the series races on, with the history, the racing character, and the practical detail a fan needs to attend.
Our Reader
You already know what a spotter does. You follow the standings on your own. We write for you, with depth and specificity, and on the assumption that you already care.
