Sammy Smith won the Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway in overtime by 0.091 seconds, his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win in his 11th start. That morning, TRICON Garage had announced he will drive its No. 15 Toyota full time next season. His Spire Motorsports teammate Austin Green finished third in his first Truck Series start. Smith isn't racing for Truck Series points, and Kaden Honeycutt finished fifth to stretch his lead in the Chase, the Truck Series playoff, to 43 points over Layne Riggs with two races left.
Davey Segal hosts with Dylan "Mamba" Smith and Chris Wilner. Mamba walks through Smith's road from late models to the win, with Smith's own early race video and his answer in victory lane. They talk about Green, Tyler Ankrum's runner-up finish, Honeycutt and TRICON, and Riggs getting shuffled out on the overtime restart, then the Chase math and what Riggs needs at Martinsville. They score last week's picks and pick the race at Martinsville Speedway on Friday, Oct. 30: Mamba takes Layne Riggs, Davey takes Kaden Honeycutt and Chris takes Chandler Smith. Chris also talks about getting back behind the wheel of a micro sprint.
