Corey Day won the Focused Health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from the pole, leading 136 of 201 laps and beating Carson Kvapil to the line by 0.287 seconds after four lead changes in the last 12 laps. It was Day's third NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series win of 2026, after Talladega and Dover, and his first on a 1.5-mile track. The driver of the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet is fifth in the 12-driver Chase, the O'Reilly Series playoffs, 41 points behind the leader.

The same day, Chase leader Sheldon Creed signed with Sam Hunt Racing: a multi-year deal to drive its No. 26 Toyota from 2027, with Kris Bowen as crew chief. Creed finished 13th at Las Vegas and still leads Kvapil by 19 points. Justin Allgaier was collected in a crash with Brandon Jones on the Lap 55 restart, finished 34th and fell from second to fourth in the Chase, 30 points behind Creed.

Davey Segal is back with host Dylan "Mamba" Smith, Chris Wilner and Dillon Welch, who interviewed Day in victory lane for The CW. They ask whether Day is a real title threat, whether Allgaier's No. 7 is in trouble and what Creed's move means. Then they score last week's picks (Dillon's pick, Taylor Gray, finished fifth and came closest) and make their picks for the Blue Cross NC 250 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 10: Mamba takes Justin Allgaier, Davey takes Corey Day, Chris takes Jesse Love and Dillon takes Carson Kvapil.
