Sheldon Creed won the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway in overtime after crew chief Jonathan Toney called him in for fresh tires on Lap 280. It was his second win in the first three races of the Chase, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series playoffs, and the third win of his O'Reilly Series career. The No. 00 Haas Factory Team Chevrolet leads Justin Allgaier by 11 points with the series off this weekend before Las Vegas on Oct. 3.
The same day the panel recorded, JR Motorsports announced that Sam Mayer, fifth in the Chase standings, will join the team in 2027. The news reached the show mid-conversation.
