Career Highlights

Mason Diaz is one of the most experienced drivers on the 2026 CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car grid, with a career that stretches from go-karts at Dominion Speedway to starts in the NASCAR Truck and Xfinity Series. The 25-year-old from Manassas, Virginia, drives the No. 41 in his latest CARS Tour campaign.

Diaz has deep roots in Virginia short-track racing. His family owns and operates Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, North Carolina — one of the CARS Tour's regular venues — giving him a connection to the sport that goes beyond the cockpit. He began racing at age four in go-karts, progressed through Bandoleros and Legends cars, and was competing in Late Model Stock Cars by 2017, when he scored his first win in just his third NASCAR Whelen All-American Series start at Southern National.

At the national level, Diaz made one NASCAR Truck Series start at Martinsville Speedway in 2017 (driving the No. 86 for Brandonbilt Motorsports) and six Xfinity Series starts between 2018 and 2020 for Brandonbilt and Sam Hunt Racing. He also competed in the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA East, finishing fifth in ARCA East points in 2020 with 11 top-ten finishes across 18 starts.

On the CARS Tour, Diaz has been a fixture since 2016. His persistence paid off in 2023 when he won the Throwback 276 at Hickory Motor Speedway — his first CARS Tour victory after 40 starts. He also won the 2021 Fall Brawl at Hickory and finished third in the 2023 CARS Tour LMSC points standings, his best championship result.

Diaz has competed for several prominent teams over the years, including Chad Bryant Racing and JR Motorsports, and has driven Fords, Toyotas, and Chevrolets at various points in his career. At Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on April 5, 2026, he finished 15th.
