Career Highlights

Mason Walters is the 2026 CARS Tour PLM points leader, having opened the season with a victory at Southern National Motorsports Park — his first career CARS Tour win in just his fourth series start. The Catawba, North Carolina native passed Keelan Harvick with four laps remaining to claim the win, signaling his arrival as a championship contender.

Walters drives the No. 6 Chevrolet for Setzer Racing and Development, the same organization that fields Evan McKnight's PLM entry. Before joining the CARS Tour, Walters won four South Atlantic Pro Series races in 2025 and finished fourth in his CARS Tour debut at Caraway Speedway. He has also competed in the Carolina Pro Late Model Series, the INEX Nashville Spring Series, and the NASCAR Weekly Series. Walters represents the grassroots North Carolina short track system at its best — a local track standout who earned his way onto the premier regional touring stage.

A driver from Catawba, North Carolina named Mason Walters won the 2026 CARS Tour Pro Late Model opener at Southern National in the same No. 6 Setzer Racing & Development chassis Ben Maier won the 2025 PLM championship in. Four races in, Walters leads PLM driver points and his Setzer teammate Evan McKnight sits P4 — a championship-form team set up to sit on a points lead through a ten-week PLM gap. Then Kaden Honeycutt complicates everything.
