Virginia Triple Crown

Virginia Triple Crown

Coverage of the Virginia Triple Crown — the premier short track racing series connecting South Boston Speedway, Langley Speedway, and Martinsville Speedway.

The VTC represents everything Grand National Today believes in: real racing on real short tracks, where the next generation of stock car stars cut their teeth on Saturday nights under the lights. These are the tracks where legends start.

2026 Virginia Triple Crown — Presented by FloRacing

The 2026 VTC carries a $50,000 championship purse, with $20,000 going to the overall champion. The champion is determined by best average finish across all three races.

Recent Coverage

The VTC sits inside the broader CARS Tour and short-track ecosystem — same drivers, same teams, often the same Saturday-night fields. Here's what GNT has been covering across that whole world.

The Tracks

South Boston Speedway — The "Birthplace of NASCAR Stars." A .4-mile oval in Halifax County that has produced more Cup Series drivers than tracks ten times its size.

Langley Speedway — A .395-mile oval in Hampton, Virginia, steeped in racing history since 1950. One of the most competitive weekly short tracks on the East Coast.

Martinsville Speedway — A .526-mile oval in Ridgeway, Virginia, and the oldest active track on the NASCAR circuit. Home to the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 — the richest late model stock car race in America, with a $125,000 purse and $32,000 winner's share.
