Career Highlights

Ronnie Bassett Jr. is an owner-driver competing full-time on the 2026 CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car circuit, bringing national-series experience and a family racing operation to the grid. The 30-year-old from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, drives the No. 04 Chevrolet for Bassett Racing, the team he owns and operates.

Bassett's career began in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (now ARCA Menards Series East), where he made 67 starts and scored one victory — the 2017 New Smyrna 175. That win helped him finish third in points that season, the best championship result of his national-series career. He went on to make 21 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series across multiple seasons, with his first start coming in March 2019 at ISM Raceway driving the No. 90 for DGM Racing.

Bassett's brother, Dillon Bassett, also competes in NASCAR, making the Bassetts one of the sport's active racing families. Their shared roots in Winston-Salem — one of North Carolina's historic racing hubs — add to the family's connection to the sport.

In 2016, a fire destroyed the Bassett Racing shop, threatening to end the operation. Calabrese Motorsports stepped in with a ride in the No. 43 to keep Bassett competing — a testament to the support network that exists in grassroots stock car racing.

Bassett returned to the CARS Tour full-time in 2023 and has been a regular since, finishing ninth in points in 2024. For 2026, he added experienced crew chief Jason Sarvis — who has worked at Richard Childress Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Joe Gibbs Racing — signaling a serious championship push. Primary sponsor Jerry Hunt Supercenter returns to the car, reconnecting Bassett with a partner from his early Late Model days.
