Jeff Batten is a North Carolina short track veteran whose racing roots run deep. His father Bobby and uncle John both raced, his stepdad Roger Matthews brought much of the family into the sport, and his uncles John and James compete on dirt alongside cousin Michael. Batten carries the family No. 49 under the Batten Ceramic Tile banner.
Batten considers Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama his home track, having logged countless laps at the 4/10-mile oval.
