Ashton Higgins brings a unique perspective to the CARS Tour Pro Late Model division — he grew up at the track. His father Shane Higgins co-owns Tri-County Motor Speedway in Brasstown, and his uncle Shad co-promotes the facility that has become one of the CARS Tour's signature venues.
Higgins began racing competitively in the ARCA Menards Series East in 2022, posting a seventh-place finish at Pensacola in his debut season while driving the No. 49 Toyota for ALH Motorsports. He has since expanded into the CARS Tour, competing in both the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model divisions under his own ALH Motorsports banner.
When Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina in October 2024, the Higgins family was on the front lines — Shad's Weaverville Tire & Wheel became a distribution center for relief supplies, and the CARS Tour's return to Tri-County served as a community healing event. Conner Jones gave Higgins his PLM ride for that race, giving the hometown favorite a chance to compete in front of his community.
Higgins carries the No. 9 Chevrolet in the CARS Tour PLM division, running a part-time schedule as he balances racing across multiple series. He sat 22nd in the 2026 PLM standings with 20 points through the early-season events.
